World of Warcraft Patch 3.2
If you've been paying attention to your patch client, you may have
seen that the 3.2 patch has just hit the PTR and there is a ton of
new info floating around about it. There is a lot of stuff in there
to digest, so I figured I'd send out a quick message with
information about what is coming and what is under development.
Epic Gems
Jewelcrafters have reason to rejoice (and miners too I bet) for the
release of epic quality gems in the 3.2 patch. There are 6 all new
gems that can be found while prospecting Titanium that will be used
to create new gems. Additionally, rare gems can be transmuted to
create new epic quality gems as well. These are going to be pretty
similar to the Stormjewels that are out there now. There are a lot
of things to consider here, but most notably:
- The price of stormjewels will go down.
- The price of Titanium Ore will go up.
- Rare gems will go up temporarily (at least those that transmute).
- People will start trading epic gems more profusely - a whole new
aspect to the economy.
New PvP
The Battlegrounds have all been changed so that you can now gain
experience while playing on them. Additionally, you will be able to
turn off XP gain in all parts of the game if you don't want to snag
XP in any one location. Additionally, there is a new battleground
on the way in the form of the Isle of Conquest - a 40v40 battle
that will combine many of the most popular aspects of different
parts of the game.
The battleground is supposed to be a siege style battleground (like
Strand of the Ancients) with resource gathering and huge numbers.
You can't go wrong with that kind of insanity.
PvP Bible will have this covered as soon as it's released so stay

Crusader's Coliseum
Not only are we getting one new instance, we're technically getting
three as a new 5 man dungeon and two different versions of the same
raid are being released in 3.2 The coliseum itself will be split up
into four different categories - 10 man and 25 man and then hard
modes for both of those brackets. Additionally, there will be new
Emblems of Triumph dropped from these new encounters that will be
used to buy Tier 9 gear.

Other Changes
There are many other changes coming down as well including the
shift in how Emblems will work. Emblems of Heroism no longer drop
from heroics. Now, you're going to get Emblems of Conquest from
heroics and Naxxramas which can be exchanged for Emblems of Heroism
if you still need them. You will be able to get more heirlooms that
way - which is nice for those that never really picked any up.
Additionally, the mount system is being turned upside down with
players getting a 6 gold mount at level 20, a 60 gold mount at
level 40, a flying mount at level 60 and a 280% flying mount at
level 70. You still have to wait til level 77 to get your flying
upgrade in Northrend, but the early levels will be much faster for
noobs now.
Additionally, if you stack up the +10% XP Heirloom Chest Piece with
the new Shoulders you can get a 20% XP boost from level 1 on - a
huge new jump in game speed.
For those interested in leveling to 80 in the fastest time
possible, here's an addon which directs you from quest to quest
with an arrow on the top so you never get lost.
Think of it as an in-game GPS system:

I've been personally using this for the past 3 months and it has
cut my leveling time by over 30%!
Finally, there are rumors that faction changing is going to be
allowed soon. This is huge for players who have always wanted to
shift realms, play with friends, or do something different without
starting from scratch. Keep an eye out for more info as this has
not been confirmed yet and may not even show up in this patch. I
personally believe that there's no way this is happening.
That's all the 3.2 news for now but as you can imagine, there's a
lot more probably floating around out there. So, keep an eye out as
new stuff starts to show up in the weeks to come.
Keep in touch!
